Serco have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Project Support Administrator to join our team based at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Swindon. This role will be responsible for supporting the project managers in the delivery of various ICT projects within the portfolio. This will include a wide range of administrative tasks to ensure the project documentation is accurately maintained and up to date, the purchasing of equipment is managed and tracked, and all processes associated with external contractors are carried out.

 

This is a fast-paced role, and one that will require the post holder to monitor their own workload and manage both internal and external resources. The post holder will be joining a supportive team and a friendly working environment. We aim to provide a great work/life balance and flexible working options may will be available after successfully completing the probationary period.

 

Serco at the Defence Academy provides Facilities Management across all aspects of the site including Estates, Logistics, various Supporting Services, together with Cleaning, Catering and Waste Management through ESS.

 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Monitoring and management of the ICT Projects mailbox.
  • Managing project assets in the Asset Management System.
  • Provide administrative support to the project managers including arranging meetings, taking minutes, updating project logs, collating project information for various uses such as reporting.
  • Obtaining quotes from standard suppliers.
  • Raising and tracking purchase orders.
  • Progressing orders for equipment and monitoring delivery.
  • Checking goods received and manging their secure storage throughout the project.
  • Ensure adequate on-site management of any third parties or sub-contractors who may be involved in the delivery of ICT projects.

  

What you need to do the job:

  • Confident, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Good standard of education particularly English and Maths.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to use a variety of communication methods.
  • Ability to work well in part of a team as well as independently.
  • Basic awareness of project management principles.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • PC Literate, with a good level of experience in MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Prince2 qualification would be advantageous.
  • You will have to gain BPSS clearance prior to appointment and SC clearance within the first 3 months.
