About You:

You exhibit the utmost trust and integrity in all that you do. You have a background in administration from sectors including defence, police, customs or relatable sectors.  You will have knowledge and experience with handling sensitive information and using a variety of computer software systems.

As this role requires you to gather, collate and input information for internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, you will need to have a high degree of accuracy, attention detail and a sense of urgency. You will also need to have excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Most importantly, you understand that we are committed to providing better outcomes for Māori.

 

About the Role:

We currently have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced administrator or coordinator. We ideally need a candidate from the justice and security sector who can help Serco deliver a safe, secure and rehabilitative environment. As an Intelligence Support Officer, your priority will be on gathering, collating, inputting and maintaining intelligence information on relevant Software Systems  with the goal of reducing and decreasing the impact of gangs, contraband and violence within the prison.  

As part of this role you will be required to attend tactical and strategic meetings where you will take notes from senior management and external stakeholders.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in a supporting administration role, preferably within the Justice and security sector.
  • Excellent levels of comprehension and report writing abilities in relation to often complex issues and circumstance
  • Have the highest levels of trust and integrity and experience working with highly classified information.
  • Be culturally aware and able to communicate well with people from all walks of life,
  • Have an understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, and be committed to providing for better outcomes for Māori,
  • Work well in a team environment,
  • Demonstrate competence in using a computer and computer systems, as well as software packages (eg. Word, Excel, Outlook),
  • Have a proactive and adaptable nature, acting quickly to solve potential issues, while being reliable and resourceful,
  • Have excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management,
  • Have the legal right to work in New Zealand (eg. NZ or Aus Citizen, NZ Residency or open work visa).

Serco opened Kohuora ASCF in Wiri, South Auckland in 2015, extending its portfolio in Asia Pacific. It is a state of the art facility, operated on behalf of the NZ Department of Corrections. We provide a safe and secure environment for over 900 male prisoners, with a strategic focus on rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners.
