Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Monday to Friday (8:00AM - 4:00PM)

Salary up to £27,000 per annum plus benefits 

 

Here at Serco we're looking for a Joiner to join us at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. The Joiner will be responsible for the internal and external joinery work associated with the hospital estate and will ensure a high quality of workmanship by the application of skills required of the post.

 

The post holder will undertake planned preventative maintenance tasks and complete all aspects of joinery i.e. maintenance, carcassing, first fix, second fix, machine and bench work (composite items).

 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Undertake PPE tasks in accordance witha computerised programme, recording actions and time taken. 
  • Carry out tasks and duties associated with the Planned and Reactice maintenance of the site.
  • Work as part nof a multi-skilled team providing an efficient estates service.
  • Comply with current Statutory/Mandatory and Health and Safety Regulatons and Guidance.
  • Ensure that requests and breakdowns are dealt with effectively and efficiently. 
  • Carry out all types of building maintenance as requested and within competence levels. 
  • Undertake all aspects of joinery i.e. maintenance, carcassing, first fix, second fix, machine and bench work (composite items).
  • Undertake the bfull range of joinery craftsmen duties as directed by the Building Fabric Management.
  • Undertake Minor New Works, Life Cycle Works, maintenance, upgrading and repair.


What you'll need to do the role

  • NVQ Level 3 qualfiication or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Great communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions safely and effectively. 
  • Flexible to work an emergency on-call rota, and flexible to work shifts to meet the needs of the department.
