Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week) (2 week rota)

Week 1: Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00

Week 2: Tuesday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00 Saturday 07:30 - 16:00

Salary: £20,330 - £21,777 (depending on experience) 

 

Here at Serco we're looking for a Laundry Supervisor to join us at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. In this role you will be responsible for the supervision of the onsite linen service ensuring a high quality, efficient and cost-effective manner is provided to all departments, wards and external customers.

As the laundry supervisor you will ensure that all laundry functions are undertaken in a professional, competent and safe manner whilst monitoring the cleanliness and general tidiness. You will Assist in the management and distribution of linen to external customers always ensuring adequate resource within the laundry is available. As you will be responsible for the supervision of all laundry staff- 36 + laundry assistants, drivers, sewing room seamstresses you will need to have great people skills and excellent communication skills including written and verbal. You will be required to identify training and development needs of laundry personnel, carry out training when necessary and conduct internal audits in the department.

 


What you'll need to do the role

 

To be considered for this role you will need to showcase previous supervisory experience in a similar role- a hospital environment would be beneficial. You will need to be customer focused with fantastic people skills, you will also have the ability to use your own initiative whilst working in a team.

 

This is a fast paced, demanding role so having the flexibility to work additional hours/cover hours often without prior notice and when required is essential.
