Serco have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Administrator to join our team based at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Swindon. The Lead Administrator will provide effective support to the J2 Security team managing the Station Clearances Mailbox ensuring requests are actioned in a timely manner.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Offer general security advice and guidance to personnel on Shrivenham Station
- Manage the Station Clearances Mailbox and the Station events clearances mailbox
- Send authorisation to the SSRC for unescorted visitor passes
- Keep the frequent visitor database up to date
- Liaise with the J2 security team regarding issues and concerns
- Follow the SSSO40 access control policy
- Initiate Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearances, for Military personnel including LCSC & RCDS and a number of contractors at Shrivenham
- Requesting NATO clearances as and when required
- Prepare Vetting information as required by the JSAU for external inspections. Be available to inspectors to answer relevant questions. Put in place any procedures required that arise from the inspection
- Ensure personnel receive notification of their vetting requirement in plenty of time, and in some cases, ensure the forms are initiated, completed, and submitted in a truly short time should personnel need Vetting at very short notice
- Assist any personnel who encounter problems with their vetting forms
What you need to do the job:
- High level of general education, with GCSE's (A-C) or equivalent in English
- Previous Administration experience
- PC literate, with experience in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate at all levels, using a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour)
- Proven organisational skills and problem-solving skills
- High level attention to detail/accuracy
