Role: Lead Python Developer (Development Manager Python Engineering Fixed Income Bonds Rates Credit Derivatives Amazon Web Services AWS Azure GCP Cloud Quantitative Analysts Java R Asset Manager Buy Side Investment Management Fund Hedge Fund Finance) required by our asset management client in London. You will be assigned to a team of 6 in a Fixed Income technology department of 10-12 scrum teams. You will have full man-management responsibility of the team but could spend as much as 50-60% of your time coding, conducting code reviews and contributing to design and architecture.
The team is dedicated to the Fixed Income quantitative analysis team, most of which is based here in London, and provides them with the engineering services that they need. A large amount of this, in the last 12 months, has been the migration of c. 50 quantitative models to the cloud (AWS). Many of these models are for the identification of investment opportunities. The services could be anything though.
The role needs a hands-on manager or team lead who is happy to juggle development, delivery, communication with the business and man-management. In order to satisfy the business, you will come into the role with very strong Fixed Income knowledge. Ideally, this will cover cash and derivative products. The quants work across rates, credit and ABS products for G10 and emerging markets. From a technical standpoint, you will bring advanced Python and some cloud, whether AWS (Amazon Web Services), GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or Azure. The cloud experience can be from home projects. Finally, you should be able to demonstrate experience at nurturing and cultivating high-performing teams.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a company where technology works extremely closely with the business and where technology has significant backing to allow for the large-scale adoption of AWS and greenfield in-house development. As the department and London office grow, there will also be opportunities for further future progression.
