Serco Skills and Training Services (STS) was formed in October 2023 to provide high quality government funded and commercial training solutions, and services to government departments, authorities, employers, and citizens.

 

We are currently recruiting for a Learner Recruitment Coordinator to join the Serco STS team on a full-time permanent basis. The purpose of the role is to be the first point of contact within STS for customers enquiring about training options and being responsible for all stages of the customer's journey from initial engagement and enquiry through to enrolment. 

 

 

Main Accountabilities

 

  • Proactively contact web enquiries, referrals and leads in a timely manner and within agree service levels, to provide further information on programme(s) and guide individuals through the application and enrolment process.
  • Attend face to face events as required, to provide further information on programme(s) and guide individuals through the application and enrolment process
  • Actively support and motivate individuals to access courses in a timely manner, promoting the benefits of the training, and offering advice and support on how it can support their career goals.
  • Support applicants to complete and submit expressions of interest (EOIs) for specific programmes
  • Review EOIs and meet with applicants (via video call or face to face as required) to discuss and review programme suitability, considering their eligibility for funding, career goals, prior attainment, English and maths levels, digital literacy, support needs etc.
  • If unable to proceed with the course, signpost the applicant to alternative provision within the relevant area
  • Arrange for initial assessments (e.g., English and maths) and STS learning policies to be sent to applicants
  • Complete enrolment forms and other funding forms with learners, verifying evidence to confirm eligibility, and input data and evidence into MI systems as required
  • Where necessary book learners in for a meeting with their skills coach to commence the individualised learning planning and wrap around support plans.
  • Use multi-channel outbound engagement methods to promote programmes, and to re-engage individuals that have previously enquired but not proceeded, to maximise conversion and meet programme targets.

 

What I need to do the job?

 

  • Experience of delivering CEIAG within an education and skills environment
  • Qualified to at least Level 3 IAG - information, advice and guidance - Desirable (or willing to undertake such training)
  • Experience of dealing with a high volume of inbound/outbound calls preferably within a sales/lead generation environment
  • Experience of working to targets and service levels 
  • Proven IT literacy and experience of navigating various multi-channel applications and
  • Caseload management skills, demonstrate the ability to plan and organise time and tasks effectively, and escalate issues as they arise

 

 

 

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) - covering pre-employment checks:

  • Identity
  • employment history (minimum of 3 years)
