As a part of Serco's  graduate scheme, you will undertake a number of different roles in your first 24 months at Serco, immersing you in all aspects of the business. You will take an active role within several of our frontline contracts across the 3 core sectors of Transportation, Civil Services, Healthcare & Defence, and UAE Rail. You will develop insights into the different sectors of our business whilst building a range of operational, commercial and people leadership skills. 



Key Accountabilities

  • Develop account management skills by gradual exposure and responsibility for successful management of our customers, our services and day to day issues.
  • Identifying opportunities to further embed our relationships with the customer and continue to successfully grow our business.
  • Deploy continuous improvement as a means of improving service excellence. Build key operational experience in governance, compliance and risk.
  • Demonstrate ideas and innovation to remove inefficiency and proactively challenge/make change happen.
  • Building strong and positive relationships with your Serco colleagues
  • Build skills in, performance management, coaching, development, engagement and leadership responsibilities. Seek opportunities for collaboration, networking, knowledge sharing, and team building can bring to making a business successful.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, colleagues, customers and team members.
  •  Build a deep understanding of Serco and our customers.
  • Build functional knowledge and skills in areas of operational efficiency, finance, HR, commercial, legal, procurement and shared services.


Specific Requirements

  • Degree level qualification of Engineering and ideally backed by a passion for business. Students who have studied internationally will be considered. 
  • A genuine interest in people and leadership
  • Strong commercial mind-set and passion for the economics & finances of business
  • Strong passion to "make a difference" - in whatever way you define.
  • Desire to learn - through operational experience and through self-development.
  • High levels of personal resilience
  • A natural relationship builder
