We're excited to announce that Serco is currently hiring a talented MI Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to be extended to 12 months.
We are looking for an exceptional MI Engineer to join our team. As the MI Engineer, you will take the lead in designing, implementing, and maintaining systems used to collect and analyse business intelligence data.
You will work closely with the MI team to create and maintain reports and dashboards using our standard reporting tools, particularly Power BI, to meet the needs of our clients and the business. We need someone who can collaborate with the analytics function to ensure that our MI goals and objectives are met.
The MI Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the data is accurate, reliable, and accessible to the intended audience.
As the MI Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in Power BI development to help Serco achieve its business objectives.
You will join the ProServ Operational Support MI Team, which provides shared service capability to the Customer, Professional, Employment, and Skill business unit in Serco UK&E. This standardized approach to reporting and MI collation will result in improved economies in both cost and capability.
You will report to the MI Manager and work closely with key stakeholders to help drive the successful delivery of the contract.
What you'll need to do the role
To be successful in this role, you should have a deep understanding of Power BI development, data models, dashboards, apps, reports, custom visuals, and data accuracy and reliability. You should also have experience in developing and presenting information in accessible formats to support decision making. We are looking for someone who can work well as part of a team with different data and information requirements.
You should be a strong problem solver and have continuous improvement skills.
You should also have experience working in an agile/scrum environment and managing workloads through defined sprints managed through Jira.
You will be an expert in presenting data in a clear and concise manner, so our audience can quickly understand the results and recommendations, allowing us to make data-driven decisions. The role requires the creation of data models, dashboards, apps, reports, and custom visuals in Power BI.
