Serco Defence is a key subcontractor to U.S prime contractors providing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and Maintenance Support to RAF Menwith Hill. Serco personnel are tasked to ensure that key systems and the engineering and maintenance support to those systems is completed, ensuring a high operation availability to users. We are currently looking for a Multi-Skilled Technician to join our team to support the S3 team. This role will make effective and valued contributions to assigned activities across multiple different and varied environments. Operating in this role will entail working closely with direct customers, local and remote teams within Serco and other corporate customers.

 

 

 

Main responsibilities of this role include:

 

  • Access any multi-task operations and undertake work within skill range and report on course of action and implications for other S3 Team Members.
  • Coordinate with other S3 Team Members.
  • Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests.
  • Carry out multi-skilled activities within the S3 Team remit.
  • Be proactive in developing new work opportunities.
  • Be fully aware of the S3 Team requirements for variable and managed works.

 

What you'll need to do the role:

 

  • Ability to use initiative to work independently but also as part of a team.
  • Proven track record of quality delivering in challenging IT related environments.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to anticipate issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Organized with strong prioritization skills.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and working safely.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain the currency and accuracy of information and systems.
  • Substantial IT experience with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft and other commonly used IT packages.
  • Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment to high quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain a DV Security Clearance.
