Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced New Business & Divestment Manager to support the new business and divestments team. You will be supported by experts assisting with various finance projects transitioning new business in and out of Serco. This is a varied role, focusing on requirements specification, validation, and approval


A key part of this is the onboarding of new business into Serco's landscape of systems ensuring key financial and operational systems are in place for go-live, alignment with Serco policies, controls and processes and BPO resourcing requirements are met. There is also a great opportunity to drive significant improvements for Serco in this role, developing your knowledge of the operations of this large diverse business whilst supporting the business to move to the next level in their plans


As part of this you'll:


  • Key financial and operational systems are in place for new contract wins
  • Supporting of company Divestments and Restructures
  • Providing support to ad-hoc business projects
  • Production of various forms (e.g. New Business template, Business Requirement Documents, COE FTE Scoping Template, PC Creation Forms, ERP Request form)
  • Performing data quality activities
  • Attend monthly calls with the various regions and BUs to support the closure of PCs for exiting contracts, provide guidance to the business in the closure of open items
  • Attend monthly pipeline calls with each BU and region to discuss future project requirements and any Accenture resourcing requirements for new business/descopes
  • Assist on completing volumetrics with the business for new scope of activities
  • Documenting finance procedures and support delivery
  • Assisting in the establishment of the FOM across all parts of the business
  • Monitors and maintains service level agreements where applicable
  • Support driving of further continuous improvement activities
  • Work closely with the financial process experts and support delivery of financial process improvement projects
  • Assisting in the closure of Open Items to close historic cost objects
  • Backup/Support to Systems Access and Controls Process Lead
  • Support the COE Service Delivery Lead in relation to Accenture resourcing levels

What you'll need to do the role:

  • Part or Fully Qualified Accountant
  • Experience of working with a Tier 1 third party service provider
  • Finance & Accounting process expertise
  • Problem solving capabilities
  • Deep analytical skills
  • Experience of driving continuous improvements across finance processes
  • Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers and key business stakeholders, preferably across multicultural teams
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic and a continuous learner
  • Strong presentation, communication, and inter-personal skills
