HMP Kilmarnock is situated approximately three miles south-east of Hurlford in East Ayrshire and housing a range of male prisoner types. We have a fantastic opportunity for an Offender Management Assistant to join our team.
As an Offender Management Assistant you will carry out various administrative duties which aim to support the implementation of various offender risk management processes, including but not limited to, Psychology services, Home Detention Curfew (HDC), Social Work support, Integrated Case Management (ICM), prisoner movements and transfers, prisoner supervision system, and court desk processes.
Some of your main duties include untried and convicted warrants calculation, scrutiny and security. You will be liaising with various internal and external disciplines, including prisoner escorting services, courts, legal services, social work and reception function. Additionally, the successful post holder will be processing travel warrants and liberation grants. Furthermore, they will be supporting the maintenance of prisoner core and electronic records and collating and providing data to support performance and compliance audits. Where required you will support by taking minutes from meetings. You will also be presenting staff and prisoner awareness sessions aimed at promoting departmental functioning.
What you need to do the job:
This role will be suitable for someone who has Previous administration and, or legal work, it would be desirable Understanding of the Scottish Legal System. The successful postholder must have a good level of English and Maths skills. It would be ideal to have Intermediate/advanced sentence calculation, however this is not essential as training will be provided. Furthermore, it would be good to have some knowledge of prison regimes. It would be beneficial if you have previous experience of minute taking and a good level of keyboard & IT skills (including Microsoft Word & Excel).
