Up to £35,000 per annum (dependant on experience)   

 

Here at Serco, we are seeking a PMO Coordinator to support the PMO team to provide expert PMO support to SBS Service lines: tracking status of project deliverables and milestones; supporting the adoption of the project lifecycle and deliverables; project level risk and issue coordination; monitoring the status of projects transitioning into normal service; coordination of the regular project level reporting cycles; co-ordination of project Governance arrangements, Post project Reviews and project level workshops. You will be part of a growing team that supports a variety of projects and programmes across Serco Business Services and will have the opportunity to work across a variety of different Project and PMO tasks, senior stakeholders and business critical activities.

 

 


As part of this you will:

 

  • Implement governance standards across the Service lines PMO, including tracking, monitoring and updating the status of project deliverables
  • Manage project level Lessons Learned repository; attend project Review meetings to identify key areas of improvement to be captured into the Lessons Learnt repository
  • Carry out assurance review processes as required
  • Liaise with staff in other PMOs so that standards are implemented consistently across Serco
  • Organise workshops to identify areas of improvement for projects, documenting recommendations and presenting them to the PMO Lead
  • Build up a repository of project templates both technical and management to support the project Managers - use examples from current and past projects to identify best practice
  • Continue to evolve the processes and templates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Implement project standards across all projects in the portfolio
  • Update and administer the project plan as required using reports from Project Managers
  • Manage communications from the PMO mailbox including regular reporting cycle requests
  • Prepare consolidated material from project reports for monthly review
  • Complete and distribute monthly portfolio level reports
  • Support implementation of the quality strategy, including any processes and templates, across all projects
  • Implement the change control process across all projects and portfolios.   
  • Provide effective management support to project teams
  • Co-ordinate the publication, review, and sign-off project Management deliverables
  • Ensure project plans are created and maintained, deliverables tracked against time and cost, and resource utilisation is monitored
  • Monitor and report on progress of the project to the Project Board and all stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate quality activities to meet quality objectives. Manage project risks, issues and change control, and communicate the impact to the project
  • Monitor projects against time, budget and quality standards
  • Conduct or contribute to post implementation reviews and identify any lessons learned Feeding carry-forward items back into the workstream, work package and project plan
     


What you will need to do the role:
 

  • At least 2 years' experience of working within a Project/PMO environment
  • Experience of programme, project and workstream co-ordination/administration
  • Exposure to the end-to-end project lifecycle
  • Experience of working within a structured project and delivery management framework
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques, specifically Prince 2, P3O and MSP.  
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages for supporting delivery management, including Project Online, Project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the importance for detail and organisation with an analytical approach to managing data/information on projects
  • Skill at managing stakeholder groups and balancing diplomacy and tact with assertiveness
  • Very good prioritisation skills to balance key priorities
  • A strong customer centric approach
  • Is courageous and decisive, prioritises effectively, maintains a clear focus and sees action through to delivery
  • Is energetic, determined, positive, goal focussed and consistent - even under pressure
  • Builds trust and demonstrates integrity in all circumstances
