£70,000 - £90,000 (dependent on experience)   



Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Principal Account Lead to join us on an initial 6 month fixed term basis to lead on account management within your target accounts/markets and creating and prosecuting a pipeline of new business opportunities for Serco.


For your accounts you will provide up-to-date knowledge of the organisational landscape including service offerings, new innovations and operational delivery capabilities that can facilitate high performing partnerships and opportunities for near term organic growth.


This key role will lead Serco strategic engagement with the UK Health Security Agency and associated customer organisations. You will be responsible for ensuring client satisfaction with the overall delivery of existing contracts, promoting wider Serco capabilities and developing the Serco footprint with the customer.


As part of this you'll:


  • Develop and own the account plan, incorporating opportunities for growth
  • Take responsibility for and deliver the in-year account revenue targets for your target accounts
  • Maintain close co-operation with the Operations Director(s) to address any customer issues or performance concerns with existing contracted services
  • Build a network of relationships with key customer stakeholders, developing a strong understanding of the customer and manage key stakeholder engagement
  • Manage the strategic relationship with any key delivery partners and maintain intelligence on relevant competitive threat with the account
  • Target and develop propositions and offerings that will enable growth and demonstrate Serco as a positive impact partner to the customer
  • Hold accountability for liaising and managing engagement with the customer across Serco executive, vertical and horizontal teams to support client satisfaction and account growth


What you'll need to do the role:

  • Excellent core skills in sales and business development
  • Advanced networking skills, adept at keeping abreast of trends, news and events so that all opportunities are exploited
  • Solid understanding of the the UK Government sector, including services and competitive forces
  • Thorough understanding of Government approach to citizen services policy development
  • First class communication and influencing skills, with proven ability to build senior relationships
  • Experience within the Health sector is beneficial
  • Flexibility to undertake regular national and occasional international travel
