Principal Engineer - System Engineering - FRACT

Would you like a fantastic opportunity working to define new system engineering processes within the submarine build programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering, you will be in charge of initiating and developing new systems processes throughout the design phases of the submarine build. Leading in arrangement annual reviews and supporting the team in system design reviews.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead and influence within the department and also to influence the development and policies and procedures across the Dreadnaught programme.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering will involve:

  • Control of design closure (existing processes)
  • Defining new and leading new processes
  • Leading in arrangement annual and supporting system design reviews
  • Leading on the strategy of certification (NCOD2, FCOD)
  • Provide logical challenge and cross check for
  • Management of certification events with the Office Chief Engineer and Design Team
  • Organisation of Annual reviews, collation of information from Systems Engineers to produce annual reports.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills:

  • Graduate qualification in an engineering based subject experience
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes
  • Some experience of Certification
  • Requirements Engineering experience

A proactive approach with systems thinking in a engineering roles with the ability to provide effective technical scrutiny and audit.
