Principal Environment, Energy & Sustainability Manager - Energy & Carbon Lead
Home-based with UK Travel      
Full Time, Permanent 

£50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience)    


Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Principal Environment, Energy & Sustainability (EE&S) Manager to deliver agreed aspects of Environmental, Energy and Sustainability policies, procedures, strategies and plans, incorporated in Serco's environmental management system.


In this key strategic role, you will lead on Energy, Carbon and Climate for the UK&E division, ensuring compliance with environment, energy and sustainability obligations.


As part of this you'll:


  • Deliver agreed aspects of Serco's strategic aims towards zero carbon, resource efficiency and environmental protection at divisional and contract level
  • Provide technical advice across the business to continually improve performance in relation to sustainability and in particular energy and carbon management
  • Deliver agreed aspects of Serco's EE&S policy, strategy, procedures and management systems
  • Lead on the preparation and development of the annual Carbon Reduction Plan, divisional Net Zero Carbon Transition Plan and CDP response
  • Lead on managing ESOS compliance
  • Input into supporting programmes including ISO50001 energy management systems, Energy Governance Board, Sustainable Procurement programmes, TCFD response on behalf of UK&E and Group Environment Strategy
  • Supply energy and carbon management elements in selected bids, ensuring the provision of cutting-edge service offerings tailored to specific client requirements and aspirations


What you'll need to do the role:

  • Technical qualification(s) in an appropriate energy or carbon management related subject is desirable, with experience in energy and carbon management
  • ESOS lead auditor is desirable
  • Understanding and experience of ESG, ISO50001, ESOS, CDP, TCFD and SECR reporting schemes
  • Knowledge on utility billing and supply side energy management
  • Experience in the identification and capitalization of energy services
