Prison Employment Lead - HMP Fosse Way

Salary - Up to 36,000 Depending on experience 

Permanent (Full-Time, 40 Hrs)

 

Here at Serco, we are looking for a Prison Employment Lead to join our new Category C Prison, HMP Fosse Way.

 

The Prison Employment Lead will principally be responsible for: i. Identifying work ready candidates. ii. Prioritising actions and services needed to ensure prisoners achieve work readiness. iii. Matching work ready candidates to suitable vacancies supplied by the New Futures Network and other employment stakeholders within the prison estate.

 

Some of the other responsibilities of the Prison Employment Lead are as follows:

 

 - Engage with stakeholders within the prison to establish a system that identifies

 - work ready prisoners and highlights actions needed to support prisoners to chieve work readiness.

 - Work with prison staff and stakeholders to match work ready candidates to job opportunities brokered on behalf of the prison by the New Futures Network and other employment agencies.

 - Support contracted IAG and Education providers to ensure the prison induction process properly

 - Champion innovations in employment and industry focused recruitment practices, such as hospitality/construction drives etc.

 - Work in partnership with the Prison's Strategic Employment Advisory Boards to improve systems that support prisoners to develop

 

What you will need to do the role

- Experience of or transferrable skills relevant to leading and motivating staff and prisoners

- An understanding of prisoner employment and ROTL

- Experience of managing group sessions with prisoners and/or employers/agencies

- Strong analytical and report writing skills, with the ability to present and produce reports / trends

- Motivating staff to maximise achievements with limited resources through effective and efficient leadership and management

- Solid understanding of building links with internal and external stakeholders to maximise prisoner outcomes

- Good IT literacy - Systems, Excel, Word
