Here at Serco we are searching for a Procurement Director to lead a high performing Sourcing and Category Management team on a global scale responsible for creating and executing supply base strategies that help Serco achieve its business goals by reducing cost and increasing the business value from Serco's spend and supply base. This role reports into the Director of Procurement and is a pivotal leadership position with the Group Procurement leadership team responsible for 6 direct reports and the operational responsibility for the management of our third party Procurement Delivery partner. As the Global Process Owner for Source to Manage processes including category management, sourcing and contracting and supplier relationship management, you will be responsible for developing and continuously improving standards and capabilities and ensuring integration to purchase to pay processes.


This role will require you to provide global leadership and direction to the Sourcing and Category Management team that brings category, market and commercial expertise to develop and implement supply base strategic plans in partnership with business stakeholders, Procurement business partners and our third party Procurement Delivery partner in support of Serco objectives, local market and customer requirements and agreed performance targets. You will need to take both a strategic and tactical lens when required; capable of being 'hands on' with your team whilst also ensuring the broader, holistic vision and strategy for the team is realised. 



What you'll need to do the job



-    Deep category management subject matter expert experience is a pre requisite for this position, and ideally you will have experience of Facilities Management (FM) procurement
-    You will possess significant experience and a track record of strategic leadership, delivery and performance improvement within large, complex global procurement organisations.
-    Ideally, you will have experience of managing a third party procurement delivery partner and a track record of success 
-    We anticipate the successful candidate will have a strong track record of people development and people management experience.
-    Clear gravitas and the ability to influence at all levels- up, across and within your peer group, helping to position the Procurement strategy and value proposition effectively to your stakeholders.
-    A global and strategic mindset and cognizant of local differences and the ability to seek innovative approaches and solutions
-    Ideally a relevant Bachelors or BSc degree or to be qualified by experience (MCIPS desirable)
