We are looking for a talented Production Support Specialist who is performance driven to join a growing global team which is highly committed to our customers.

Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity within the military department as a Production Support Specialist, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager. Although not a direct first line management role, you will be responsible for the day to day, tactical management of Departmental KPIs, Projects & Initiatives and cost out projects within the relevant department, working to maximise production in a safe working environment and to quality standards.

Role Specific
Will include but is not limited to:

  • Update and maintain the department KPIs
  • Identify trends against performance
  • Identify and implement both direct and indirect cost out opportunities within the department
  • Drive to completion of all active projects within the department
  • Lead all RCCA investigations across the department
  • Provide coaching for employees within department, and driving engagement and motivation in the teams
  • Develop action plans and set day to day direction for the team and solve problems within their areas
  • Eliminate waste in processes
  • Identify and produce effective measures to deal with bottlenecks and constraints that affect the plan
  • Identify improvements in the department visual management processes
  • Support and drive 'self-empowered' employees and teams
  • Promote and develop internal and external customer satisfaction and positive relationships with the support functions to ensure on-time delivery of projects
  • Ensure document control - controlled copy of shop documents (such as drawings and MPs)
  • Implementation of contingency plans when required (e.g. for machine breakdowns)

Requirements
Essential

  • A recognised LEAN qualification (Six Sigma or equivalent)
  • An EHS qualification (NEBOSH or IOSH)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels within an organisation


Desirable

  • Project Management (APMP or equivalent)
  • Experience in manufacturing processes
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems
  • Prior experience with regulatory agencies and knowledge of the requirements is preferred
