Here at Serco we are looking for an experienced Programs Manager to join the team at HMP Fosse Way. Reporting to the head of Psychological Services - the Programs Manager is To oversee and co-ordinate all accredited interventions in the prison, for example Thinking Skills Programme (TSP),  RESOLVE, Building Better Relationships (BBR), Kaizen. Responsible for the planning of the programme schedule to ensure the KPT is met and (along with the Head of Psychological Services) liaise with The Controller commissioning the programmes about the annual KPT. This role operationally ensures the smooth running of Offending Behaviour Programmes within the wider context of the prison.

You will be Responsible for all aspects of line management to include, staff development, appraisals, performance management (to include disciplinaries) and ensuring that all Serco MyHR policies practices and procedures are followed.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Programs Manager are as follows:

 

  • To operationally ensure that offending behaviour programmes are delivered, i.e. suitable rooms are available, suitably trained staff are available and in the wider context of the prison, the prisoners identified as needing the programme are available and able to attend. This will involve liaising with other managers throughout the prison.
  • Along with the Head of Psychological Services, liaise with The Controller commissioning the programmes, regarding the annual KPT.
  • To have an input into the SMT through the Head of Psychological Services regarding Offending Behaviour Programmes.
  • To ensure that KPTs in all Programmes are met through construction of rotas and an annual delivery plan.
  • To promote programmes to the prison and ensure that offenders, Offender Managers and other stakeholders are able to access clear and accurate information about the programmes.
  • To ensure delivery of staff Programmes Awareness training meeting the annual KPT.
  • To ensure that delivery of programmes comply with the requirement outlined in management manuals.
  • To identify training and development needs of staff in the department relevant to the successful delivery of programmes. To ensure that all staff involved in the delivery of programmes are well supported.
  • To attend and pass all required or relevant training to aid development and support business needs.
  • To make decisions about which offenders should take priority to minimise waiting times.
  • To work with the Treatment Managers to develop the Programmes Department including both clinical and operational audits. This role has overall responsibility for ensuring the work involved for the Interventions Services audit is completed

Programme Specific trained.

Experience

  • Essential - Experience of delivering accredited interventions, for example TSP / RESOLVE / BBR
  • Desirable - Some experience of managing others.
