They're a fantastic business for many reasons, but mainly because of the atmosphere and culture they have on their site and also because of the level of detail they go to manufacture the perfect products.
They're an injection moulding business who manufacture a range of different products on a grand scale. Whilst each component manufactured may be inexpensive, they're still integral to the final product's performance and it's more than likely that you've actually seen their products today if you've visited the supermarket!

To work on the development of new products being introduced into production, which may include the design of brand new products or modifications to existing products

You will have to make design changes where necessary using CAD software and whilst these may be product focused, you will also need to have an appreciation for the required tooling and design this if needed.
There will be a need to speak to suppliers to discuss quotes for materials, tools and also machinery if needed, which may be integrated within the existing manufacturing environment for when production comes to fruition.
There will also be a need to speak with other departments, for example the Quality Team to define quality standards and inspection tests for the new products.
Throughout this process, you will be providing support to other members of the business and also keeping an eye out for areas which can be improved.
Experience/skills that will be suitable for this role:
Ideally this candidate will have a background managing projects with the focus of introducing new products into production.
Because this is a plastic product manufacturing business, they would ideally like someone with industry experience.
Design experience will be needed to be successful in this role and the ability to use multiple design packages too.
Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, which includes creating new tooling and also looking at new machinery introduction will also be ideal.
You should have previous experience speaking with customers, suppliers and preparing quotations and costings for both.
