Location: Home Based (Occasional Travel to Sites Required)

We have an exciting opportunity to provide centralised programme management of projects to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions across the defence estate managed by VIVO. 

 

This includes monitoring the delivery of a number of centrally managed programmes, such as upgrade of all Building Energy Management Systems and rollout of smart technologies, where the successful candidate will manage the end-to-end Billable Works (Projects) process (concept-design-pricing-delivery-handover), in liaison with sites, ensuring all works are delivered on time and payments managed. This is a data lead reporting role, not a project manager role.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the set up and driving energy programmes through to completion.
  • Provision of programme reports for internal and external stakeholders, including energy and carbon reduction tracking.
  • Ensuring regular communications with relevant site teams on progress/plans and local requirements for approved projects.
  • Development of pipeline and financial forecasts for energy initiatives and ensuring local site teams are aware of likely future work for resourcing purposes.
  • Ensure appropriate work plans and budgets are in place to achieve programme deliverables and financial commitments.
  • Work with all stakeholders to support the management and mitigation of programme risks.
  • Progress tasks end to end through the Maximo system, ensuring payments from DIO in line with subcontractor payments.
  • Ensure all documentation relating to Billable Works are completed and distributed in a timely manner, including upload to the Sharepoint system
  • Manage cost and stakeholder expectation through excellent communication and sound commercial decisions to ensure value for money.

 

Technical competencies:

  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of Programme Management principles.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of how clients can achieve net zero carbon emissions.
  • Plan resources effectively and monitor against clear objectives, ensuring milestones and targets are met.
  • Using available technology, produce and analyse data, maintain accurate records, and identify problems within area of remit.
  • Work in compliance with Vivo processes and identify and share effective ways of working within the Vivo contract.
  • Manage cost and value for money utilising technical knowledge and experiential experience.

 


What Skills You'll Need To Do The Role:

First and foremost, you should have experience of overseeing multiple projects across a wide number of sites, with excellent reporting skills. You will collect data from Project Leads and consolidate the centralised data for all projects across the VIVO contract, presenting information to high level stakeholders.

Essential:

  • HNC/D level qualification in a Building/Civil Engineering or Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Continuing Professional Development
  • Developed IT skills (e.g., Excel, Word, CAFM, Teams, SharePoint etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience of delivery of renewables projects:
    • Programme management experience
    • Stakeholder management
    • Management of costs
    • Planning, reporting, directing and controlling activities


Nice To Have:

  • Experience of managing the implementation of net zero carbon programmes
  • Familiarisation with renewable technologies, building energy management systems, smart building technologies, metering.
  • Familiarisation with CAFM applications
