Property Administrator - 12 Month Fixed Term

Your new role  

National Highways have an exciting new opportunity for a Property Administrator within the Property and Compensation division of the Major Projects Directorate on an initial 12 month fixed term basis.  

The role is based at our Bristol office two days a week, but we have a hybrid working approach meaning the role will be a combination of office and agile home working. 

This role will support the Property Acquisition Team’s work in ensuring that the land and rights required for the scheme are acquired and that related costs are paid promptly and appropriately in accordance with legislation, policy, and the compensation code.  

What you’ll be leading on  

  • Liaising with the company’s legal and valuation suppliers to acquire land and rights that are needed to improve or maintain the Network.  
  • Accurately maintaining the company’s property records, financial and other administrative records, using the company’s systems; to ensure they comply with statutory and internal procedures, and inform effective decision making.  
  • Managing work to meet objectives, ensuring that the relevant law, policies, and procedures are followed.  
  • Liaising with colleagues and customers, building effective relationships to ensure that claimants and affected landowners receive a good customer service.  
  • Collating and analysing relevant information to inform effective decision making. 

To be successful you’ll need   

  • The ability to work effectively in an office environment and deliver excellent customer service and engage with Stakeholders both internally and externally.  
  • Strong understanding of English language and great grammatical skills, to deal with items such as legal documentation or drafting letters etc. 
  • Effective record keeping and attention to detail especially in respect of managing case finances.  
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures and recognise the importance of governance.  
  • Taking ownership of own workload and ability to recognise when matters require escalation. Seeking advice and guidance as appropriate.  
  • Demonstrable IT skills to enable production/maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets.
