We are looking for a talented Quality Inspector who is performance driven to join a growing global team which is highly committed to our customers.


Role Summary
As a Quality Inspector, you will support your assigned production value stream(s) through the inspection and certification of aerospace components against drawings, model-based definitions, and other design data to ensure production requirements are achieved safely, on time and to the customer specifications.
You will be expected to use various measuring equipment, depending on product type, to validate that the product conforms to the part drawing and customer specifications. On the job training will be provided to develop the required skills / competency to discharge the role.
Role Specific Duties
Will include but is not limited to:

  • Undertake the inspection and approval of metallic and composite aerospace components against design data (2D drawings, 3D model), drawings and customers supporting documentation
  • Use various measuring equipment to ensure products are inspected to the correct requirements, specifications and materials as agreed with the customer
  • Accurately complete paperwork to maintain component traceability, including:
    • Update and/or complete work route cards
    • Raising & completing non-conformance for Internal, Supplier and Customer rejects
    • Writing inspection reports, assessing pass & fail criteria against standard/drawing tolerances
    • Completion of shipping paperwork
  • Undertake and complete First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports to regulatory requirements, and certification of parts
  • Cover inspection activities in other value streams as required
  • Work with value stream management to prioritise products for inspection in line with the production plan
  • Achieve a timely response to set targets
  • Keep knowledge and training
  • Record and / report non-confirming product to Quality Assurance Engineers
  • Assist in determining and documenting work instructions, visual aids and inspection criteria
  • Operate and programme the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), using PCDMIS


Candidate Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, or time-served apprenticeship in allied trades
  • Previous experience of using measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and shadow graphs.
  • Able to read and understand engineering/design drawings, specifications and part drawings (accessed via PC)
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • PC literate including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven good communication skills
  • A pro-active attitude
  • Desire to learn and evolve with the business

This role will be paying a salary of £27,464.38, rising to £30,040 once approved operator stamp has been obtain. Further salary increases available with when further approvals are obtained.

This role will be working early shift (06:00-14:15, Monday-Friday).

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
