Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Commercial Groundwo

Daniel Owen are looking for an experienced groundwork estimator / quantity surveyor with experience in the commercial sector.

The role will be a 50 / 50 split between estimating and quantity surveying, the successful candidate will be experienced in both disciplines.

Working with various high-profile clients throughout the UK the successful candidate will be looking after several projects and managing all commercial aspects of the sites.

Demonstrate their ability to see through projects from estimating at tender stage through to final account.

This is a varied role which requires a dynamic candidate with a broad set of commercial skills with a strong background in estimating and quantity surveying.

Tender / Pre-Contract

• Identify relevant opportunities
• Adapting client documents for estimating
• Advising on procurement strategy.
• Pricing and submission of specification alternatives
• Allocating work to subcontractors including preparation of sub-contractor documentation.
• Attend Pre-Start Meetings

Post-Contract

• Measurement of all elements of the project works
• Pricing & submission of CVIs
• Management of Sub-contractors
• Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks
• Preparation of monthly valuations, including all supporting information for materials on site, variations and measurement
• FA projections
• CVR Reports
• Valuing completed work and arranging payments including FA settlement
• Attend regular site meetings

General

• Assisting in the preparation of commercial reports for internal contract review meetings
• Implementing company Health & Safety Policy
• Providing advice on contractual claims
• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

Personal Specification

• Minimum 5 year's experience in similar role
• Good negotiator
• Team player

This is a long-term position for the right candidate, and you will be working directly with the business owners and a small but enthusiastic team. This is a role that is constantly evolving to reflect the needs of the growing business and the candidate must be prepared to grow within the role.

Excellent salary package awaits the right candidate in a great working environment. This is an office-based role however you will be expected to travel to various sites throughout the country.

This is a full-time position. Monday - Friday 8am -5pm
