Part Time, Permanent (14 hours per week)

2/7 shifts (every other weekend on reception - 7 hours on Saturday & Sunday / every other alternate week supporting hospitality with flex across all departments) 

 

Here at Serco, we are looking for a Receptionist to join our team at the Emergency Planning College. The EPC, also known as The Hawkhills Training, Conference and Events centre, is based in Easingwold across 280 beautiful acres of grounds and is the national centre for UK Resilience learning and development.

 

This role will provide a proactive, friendly, and courteous reception service to all employees and visitors to site. The Receptionist will ensure that the reception area is maintained to a high standard of customer care, cleanliness and always promoting a professional image.

 

Main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Greet all visitors on arrival at the site, responding to any queries and providing information as required.
  • Update information boards and visitor information, ensuring it is commensurate to training activity.
  • Operate the barrier and monitor the CCTV.
  • Operate the switchboard, responding to all external calls.
  • Coordination of visits, ensuring all delegates are booked in and collected from reception.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, conferences, accommodation and make travel arrangements as required.
  • Provide administrative support to the Training Team as appropriate.
  • Order and maintain an appropriate stationery stock.
  • Overnight accommodation allocation and distribution of room keys.

 

What you'll need to do the role:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate in a flexible, organised, consistent and committed manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a confident approach to personal communications.
  • Demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment to high quality standards.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous reception, administration and switchboard experience is preferable.
