Regional CAD Technician & Documents Coordinator

Based at either Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Forth Valley Royal Hospital (Larbert) or University Hospital Wishaw.

Salary - Agenda for Change Band 5 (£33,000.00 - £38,500.00 depending on experience) plus Serco benefits.

Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

 

We are recruiting for new position within the Serco Health Scotland contracts.  As part of the ongoing requirement to update and maintain existing records and drawings, the increase in project works means that there is a now a need to have a dedicated resource to support the Hard FM teams across our four hospitals.

 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Production of new and updating of existing AutoCAD drawings and, where appropriate, the BIM model.
  • Updating and collation of all new and existing hard copy and electronic records including but not limited to O&M manuals, Health and Safety files and asset registers.
  • Transfer of drawing and O&M data between different formats - DWG,DXF, PDF etc.
  • Assist with the preparation service user briefs for potential projects identifying the user service requirements, objectives to be achieved and standards (SHTMs and HBNs) to be met. 
  • Assist with the production of feasibility and business case reports for consideration by the customers.
  • Assist with the production of costings for projects identified as potential capital projects within agreed protocols and to a standard format, including the production of tender reports.
  • Assist with the production of detailed project programs, specifications, schedules of work and contract documentation for tendering, within key milestone dates based on a RIBA Plan of Work, including using computer applications as required.
  • Assist with the production of fee bid documentation.
  • Communicate with customers and contractors via phone and email.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly reports on progress against capital spend and against the agreed programme as required.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the Project Teams Key Performance Indicators.
  • Undertake any other duties and training required to successfully fulfil this role.
     

What you'll need to do the role:

 

  • Completion of a recognised, appropriate apprenticeship or other relevant recognised structured Training Programme in CAD use - City & Guilds, BTEC.
  • Effective communicator across different levels internal and external to the business, understanding the requirement to engage with colleagues and customers in a clear, consistent and professional manner.
  • A working knowledge of the AutoCAD LT package up to and including 2015
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package plus Microsoft Project
  • Advantageous - Experience, knowledge and use of the Revit Architectural package
  • Advantageous - Experience, knowledge and use of the BIM and National Building Specification System
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential to travel to all other Serco Health sites in Scotland
