Working hours: Full-Time 37.5 hours per week based at RAF Scampton

 

Here within our Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract an opportunity has arisen for a Regional Safeguarding Officer at RAF Scampton. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.

 

The Regional Safeguarding Officer will establish, promote, and maintain good working relationships with vulnerable service users while building robust relationships with key external stakeholders to enable access for service users to appropriate service intervention and support. Ultimately ensuring vulnerable service users and staff are effectively safeguarded from risk.

 

You will work with vulnerable Service Users who are identified as in need of support, providing advice and access to appropriate external service providers and liaise with staff and external agencies/suppliers to ensure efficient processes and good communication between stakeholders ensuring that accurate records of contacts and referrals are maintained.

  

The Regional Safeguarding Officer will report to and support the Safeguarding Manager and will provide appropriate practical and emotional support to individual service users in accessing appropriate service intervention and ensuring that each service user has a support and risk management plan in place which effectively meets their support needs and that plans are reviewed and updated as required.  You will work with Service users in a professional manner treating them with dignity and respect and deal with difficult or problematic situations/conflicts in a sensitive manner whilst promoting the safety and wellbeing of our service users, responding appropriately to risk, reporting on safeguarding, accidents, and incidents.

 

 

 

 

What you need to do the job

 

We are looking for candidates who have experience of identifying and managing safeguarding needs in vulnerable people.

 

A knowledge of the UK asylum policy is desirable but not essential

 

You will have excellent communication skills at all levels, using a variety of communication methods, along with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
