About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. 

This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

 

About Lavarack
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia.  It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment.  The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members.  It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday - Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).

As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients. You will develop and maintain patient care plans, liaise with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide co-ordinated patient management, provide assessment of patients and co-ordinate outpatient and inpatient treatments.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of 12 months Post Graduate experience within the last 5 years in an acute care, primary health care, or military setting (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

Please note:

  • You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
  • You don't need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
