Do you want to be at the forefront of leading future Electronic Engineering R&D? This exciting new role has been created to manage the Research and Development activities within the Electronics Engineering's Future Business team, providing technology leadership and 'value creation' for EE. This is achieved by delivery management and future planning of both internal and external research activities.

As the R&D Lead you will be joining as a key member of Electronics Engineering Future Business team and, as such, be part of shaping the role and be an integral part of the team's future. The team is focused on improving every aspect of Electronics Engineering response to the research needs of the business and you'll have support to learn and contribute at every level.

You will work closely with the Future Business Head, as well as Electronics Engineering designers, technical experts and peers across the business. The role will require you to manage research programmes and funding business cases, build relationships both internally and externally.

As the R&D Lead you will be vital to the EE's Future Business team, and you will understand how we evolve electronic technology in the future, how it will feed into new products and what opportunities technological advances might offer - both to the UK's Portfolio and the company's strategy!

The development of modules and technology roadmaps and their mapping to Electronic Engineering and the business product lines, requires someone that understands electronic technology at every level; someone who can share ideas, build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business.

Essential:

  • Degree qualified in Electronics, Physics, Engineering or Maths (or related subject)
  • Experience in Electronics
  • Experience and passion in R&D (Research and Development)
  • Experience in leading / mentoring a team.
