Here at Serco we are looking for a SAM Analyst to join the MyTechnology team, you will be responsible for supporting the SAM service desk and replying to incoming e-mails, liaising with the rest of the SAM team to see these tasks through to successful completion.


You will be working closely with Configuration Management, Change Management, IT Vendor Management, Procurement, Infrastructure and Operations teams to help maintain the day-to-day records and databases responsible for containing information pertaining to the organization's software assets.


You will also be supporting software compliance audits and working with teams to maintain an effective software asset management program.



As part of this you will:

  • Work closely with Service Desk, Operations, Standard Services, Vendor and Procurement to ensure appropriate software licenses are available prior to deployment
  • Be responsible for Software Asset Management license maintenance activities, including:
  • Creating new software licenses in accordance with vendor specifications in the Software Asset Management tool
  • Processing new software purchases and applying to the appropriate software license as approved
  • Collecting information in response to software verification requests
  • Be responsible for helping to maintain the Entitlement Register, including:
  • Distributing software media to the appropriate resources
  • Be responsible for assisting with the following activities related to the maintenance of the SAM Software and license Repository:
  • Work with the Technical Lead or Senior SAM members to ensure packaging requests and deployment methods and media are correctly operating in line with license restrictions
  • Ensuring software models are linked to the appropriate contracts
  • Ensuring license keys are linked to the appropriate software models
  • Providing regular recharge data to the Billing/Invoice team for onward processing
  • Providing a SAM service to Serco's customers as contracted, tailored to the customer's requirements



What you will need to do the role

- Educated to Degree level (Level 5/6) or minimum of 1-2 Years' experience working on a SAM environment

- Strong problem-solving with excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Basic data analysis and manipulation skills including MS Excel

- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail
