Security Manager (Lead Warden) London

Our client who is an association that includes barristers and judges and is one of the four Inns of Court. It has been in existence for over 600 years. And it is highly dedicated to the qualification, training and development of their members at all stages of their careers, in a collegiate and inclusive environment are now seeking a Lead Warden to supervise and advice the duty staff, providing a link to and liaising with the Chief Porter on all matters relating to the security of the Inn grounds and buildings. To be responsible for the daily administration for the Wardens, all daily reporting and equipment’s. To provide a flexible addition to the team working pre-planned shift patterns that will include evenings, night and weekend work. Flexible working hours will be required for this post.

Main duties:

The following list of duties is indicative of the nature of the post. Priorities, time-scales and standards will be set in agreement with management, recognising the level of professional competence of the post holder.

  • In liaison with the Chief Porter and Deputy Chief Porter to take the operational lead role for security provisions for all Inn’s major events
  • In addition to be fully conversant in the use and operation of all security and safety systems. The post holder will be expected to have the technical knowledge to troubleshoot, and administer the systems in an administrator function. These systems would include, but not limited to: CCTV, Access Control, Key Safes and associated Bio-Metric functions. All fire, Life Safety Systems and Intruder Alarms. The post holder would be expected to provide ongoing training to the Wardens for all of these equipment’s
  • To ensure staffing levels meet requirements of the Inn and that staff are correctly assigned to regular daily posts and events
  • To ensure that staff maintain a high level of professionalism whilst carrying out their duties
  • To wear the Inn’s uniform and present a smart appearance at all times when on duty
  • To ensure that regular patrols are carried out throughout each day
  • To ensure that information is kept current and up to date in relation to keys, member parking and the contact details for the Inn’s residents and tenants
  • To provide cover for sickness/leave or security in conjunction with Inn’s private functions
  • To comply at all times with Inn’s health and safety policy for the health and safety of staff, members and visitors
  • To complete regular audits for the Inn’s physical security measures, fire routes and supplied firefighting equipment’s
  • To undertake appropriate training and development, as may be required by the post and is with the capability of the post holder
  • To undertake any other job related duties which management may determine from time to time

  • Good numeracy skills with the experience of cash handling
  • To show good prioritising skills and the ability to keep calm whilst under pressure
  • To be able to work as part of the team
  • Smart appearance with a confident demeanour
  • Prepared to work flexibly to cover shifts during the days and nights
  • Can apply common sense approach to handling issues and/or resolving problems  
  • The confidence to use other software based IT systems
