Shift Patterns: 5 days over 7 (Flexible working required, including some night shifts and weekends- enhanced pay)

Salary: starting from £23,949 per year

 

Here at Serco we're looking for a Security Supervisor to join us at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital puts its patients at the heart of everything they do. The Hospital cares for the people of Norfolk, north Suffolk and further afield, providing almost one million out-patient appointments, day case procedures and in-patient admissions every year. The hospital has 1,200 beds and state-of-the art facilities and works closely with the University of East Anglia to train health professionals and have a strong focus on research. 

 

As the Security Supervisor, you will provide a security presence throughout all areas of the hospital in order to deliver a polite, efficient and compassionate service to patients, visitors and staff at all times. 

 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Issuing keys, including Trust pool car keys to authorised personnel.
  • Manage car parks and check driving licences where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all signing in and out sheets are completed and maintained.
  • Monitoring security systems installed within the control room and alert colleagues to situations as required (CCTV).
  • As Security Supervisor you may have to respond to violent/sensitive situations, dealing with distressed people, responding to challenging/traumatic security incidences and patrolling the site to maintain a high level of security.
  • respond to general enquiries on the phone and in person and redirect all enquiries appropriately and in a professional manner.


What you'll need to do the role

 

 

  • Valid SIA Licence - preferably including CCTV.
  • Previous Security Officer experience, preferably within a large corporate or Hospital setting.
  • Resilience to deal with a range of different issues including providing a first line response to violent and aggressive persons within the hospital. 
  • Excellent decision-making skills. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Patient Administration System High level of computer literacy and skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to remain calm when working under pressure.
  • Flexible and confident in all situations.
  • Proven experience of writing restraint reports.
