Here at Serco, within our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC) we focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system, ensuring that vulnerable asylum seekers have access to the support they need along with a high standard of accommodation. 

 

The Analytics and Performance team is a new function within the AASC contract and due to significant growth, we have a newly generated role within the team Capacity Analyst. The department will be responsible for producing accurate, current, and insightful Management information to provide all contractual, external and internal functional, performance and insight reporting.  The team is also responsible for optimising service performance, driving adoption, effective business change, and ultimately helping to develop a data-driven organisation.

 

You will provide management and oversight of capacity analysis undertaken across the AASC contracts ensuring all analysis and modelling is robust and consistent in approach to provide practical and expert analytical advice to the business including working with operational and Service Delivery Coordination teams to review and implement projects to drive and deliver capacity maximisation.

  

You will be expected to effectively communicate and present clear information to both internal and external stakeholders, across a multi-site environment, using your strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade and communicate at all levels.

 

A team of Analysts will report into you therefore relevant management experience is required as well as your demonstrable experience of building strong relationships alongside your analytical experience. You will successfully deliver accountabilities such as:

 

  • Develop a strategy and standard around capacity analysis and processes to ensure consistent reporting across AASC including annual plans to support with business planning strategies
  • Recording, reporting, and driving Demand & Capacity activity across the variety of functions across AASC to deliver the continuous improvement of Demand & Capacity related MI and processes
  • Pro-actively interrogate MI and data streams including historic data to understand trends, and support accurate forecasting
  • Support the Head of Data Analytics & Strategic Performance in working with the Home Office to adjoin approach on capacity management and SU inflow/outflow
  • Work with the Senior Analyst (Procurement) to monitor and manage Service User (SU) demand against procurement activities across AASC
  • Pro-actively monitor and manage the optimisation of the AASC portfolio to maximise density (reducing frozen, disrepair, blocked, underutilised) bedspaces to achieve contractual Volume Caps across AASC
  • Provide statistical analysis on capacity trends and SU movement to support AASC strategy and initiatives
  • Work with the procurement and portfolio management teams using MI to identify, schedule, track and delivery portfolio maximisation strategies including but not limited to:  HMO conversion, extension, loft conversion
  • Lead and facilitate regular Demand & Capacity planning meetings with key stakeholders across the business ensuring risks and challenges are captured and addressed
  • Work with senior stakeholders to review and refresh SU allocation plans, calculators, projects, and MI to drive appropriate and contractually compliant of property use
  • Build strong relationships with business and functional stakeholders to understand business direction, processes, issues, decisions, and shape data requirements for reporting, analysis, and insight
  • Translate business requirements into data analytics designs, including data exploration, data analysis, presentation queries, report/dashboard, and analysis models

 

What you'll need to do the role

 

Collaborative cross team working is a big part of this functioning role, so you must have demonstrable experience of working with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, and user enablement.

 

Naturally, you'll need to be an excellent stakeholder manager along with the drive and capability to work in a fast-paced agile environment - continuously review the business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables and identify opportunities and risks.

 

Your analytical experience must include Power BI and Excel experience as a minimum but the more analytical and change management experience you can bring is a clear advantage (ie working knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma).

 

Travel will be required for this role across sites and full flexibility is required as this may be at short notice.
