Senior Commercial Analyst  
Hybrid attached to the Hook office     
Full Time, Permanent 

£50,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience) 

 

Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Analyst to provide dedicated, high quality financial modelling and commercial bid resource across all Business Units within the UK & Europe division, along with supporting the wider business with expert financial modelling skills.

 

In this key role, you will ensure that Serco remains in the best position to win good business to grow and develop the company. Day to day this means working with bid teams to develop and populate accurate cost models, active challenging of technical inputs and working to both satisfy internal governance requirements and support analysis of optimal pricing solutions that will be provided to customers alongside our proposed technical solution for outsourced Contracts.

As part of this you'll:

 

  • Influence decision making on bids by using the modelling process to highlight the outcomes and impact of different areas of the bid strategy
  • Provide expert modelling as required throughout the business, such as supporting customer negotiations and operating forecasts
  • Provide support to the bid governance process, identifying financial and commercial risks for discussion
  • Ensure compliance across the UK with Serco Group policy and standards relating to financial modelling
  • Assist in developing data manipulation capability beyond the modelling of financial data to support emerging commercial propositions across the business
  • Support in the delivery of a cost-effective model audit capability, and the implementation of a suite of pre-audited financial models for wider use across the contract base
     


What you'll need to do the role:
 

  • Expert Excel skills
  • Strong bid financial modelling skills
  • Ability to challenge key stakeholders with effective communication skills
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen
  • Relevant professional financial qualification (or equivalent combination of relevant alternative professional qualification and relevant financial experience)
  • This role supports a first time move from practice, providing opportunity to further develop your accounting skills and application together with the support to develop commercial acumen in a forward-looking role
