Up to £75,000 per annum + Car (dependent on experience)

The Role:

 

Here at Serco, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to take full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects, typically with significant business, political, or high-profile impact.

 

In this key role you will ensure that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained. You will also monitor and control resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget, managing expectations of key project stakeholders. 

 


As part of this you'll:

 

  • Manage the delivery of large and complex IT work-packages requested as part of a wider Business Project/Programme or as standalone projects
  • Ensure that IT deliverables are to the required standard of quality, within the constraints of time and cost
  • Be responsible for managing budgets, providing accurate financial workbooks in line with the Serco financial cycle
  • End to end IT delivery from acceptance of the request through to work-package close down
  • Manage delivery partners/suppliers to ensure they deliver in accordance with the contracts' (SLA's)
  • Hold responsibility for planning Service Acceptance and working with Operations team to ensure ready-for-service is achieved
  • Support project boards as required by the business or chairing project boards for internal projects, chairing delivery team meetings (or Scrums) as required


What you'll need to do the role:

 

  • Significant project experience or technical delivery management of IT Change and IT projects as an IT Project Manager
  • Strong experience in dealing with senior business users, determining delivery scope and priorities as well as resolving issues
  • Current Prince2 Practitioner certification or APM certification is highly desirable
  • Foundational understanding of Systems Integration, Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design
  • Proven history and track record of completing quality Technology projects on time, as well as a proven track record in coaching and mentoring others to success
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently
  • Knowledge of application development and system architecture
  • Must be willing to undergo BPSS security clearance. In some cases, SC may be required
