Working: Possible Flexible and some remote working potentials. Occasional travel to customers, suppliers or other sites within the UK and internationally may be required, including overnight stay.

The Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer will have a blend of both electrical and mechanical skills and experience enabling them to provide technical expertise and oversight throughout the engineering life cycle, from initial requirements, through concept generation, development and detailed final design

The Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer will carry out all work ethically, safely and in accordance with the relevant standards and best practice within the nuclear industry. You will develop electro-mechanical solutions across a variety of projects, using principles of electrical/electronic integration, control instrumentation, mechanics, pneumatics, and material science as required.

Experience needed:

  • Qualified to degree level or previous experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in the design and assembly of products designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of technical and business disciplines.
  • Conversant with both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, with the ability to produce and critically review mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Experience working with a variety of electro-mechanical manufacturing processes and assembly techniques including cabinet wiring, cables and harnesses.
  • A good working knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Autodesk Inventor or similar.
  • A good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience working with BoMs and detailed drawing packs.
  • Ability to write concise and detailed engineering reports and documentation for publishing.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
  • Application of ASME coding within a nuclear environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM/DFA and root cause analysis.
  • Perform detailed reviews of engineering drawings.
  • Leading engineering teams.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of radioactive materials would be advantageous.
  • Application of ASME coding within a nuclear environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
