Your Opportunity  

 

We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to provide financial leadership as a key part of the Advisory Services team in order to support the overall growth of the business and lead on special projects as requested by the CEO. This is a key role in delivering Serco Middle East strategy, which is focused on growth of the division through winning large contracts, M&A and joint ventures.

 

The ideal candidate should have the ability to identify key issues and manage an environment of regular change, to think strategically, execute quickly and adjust plans to meet organizational needs, and to hold sensitive and confidential materials in strict confidence.

 

This role is part of the finance team and will be based in our corporate offices in Riyadh or Dubai.
 

Key Accountabilities 

  • You are expected to ensure timely and accurate records of financial data and provide financial management information to the Serco Middle East CFO, the division and Group if required.

  • You are also expected to set budgets and forecasts for the performance of the function and ensure awareness of all issues that may materially impact financial performance and report accordingly.

  • To be responsible for all matters financial, when deputising for the CFO and to liaise with contracts to address any such issues to reach conclusion.

  • To head the finance function across Advisory Services and ensure all financial requirements are adhered to in a timely and accurate manner

  • Manage the internal audit for the sector and external audit for all related entities

  • Lead on major transactions such as mergers & acquisitions, key partnerships, PPPs and joint ventures. 

  • Support with large/complex bids to ensure key risks and opportunities have been identified and mitigated, completeness and robustness of the proposal is achieved, and Serco has a competitive and potentially rewarding submission.

  • Source potential acquisition targets and deeply understand their businesses to assess strategic fit for the division.

  • Ensure awareness of the key financial risks and opportunities facing the business for specific sector/contract areas, and ensure innovative initiatives are developed, aimed at addressing those risks. 

 

Specific Requirements 

  • Minimum 10 years accounting / finance experience

  • Minimum 7 years acting in a management capacity in a finance context

  • Proven track in managing a finance team, interacting with senior management and delivering accurate and timely data.

  • Contractual and commercial experience in dealing with clients and suppliers to obtain the most favourable terms

  • In-depth ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Highly technically and practically competent in Accounting

  • Ability to negotiate and persuade at highest levels

  • Strong client management skills

  • Qualified Accountant to an internationally recognized standard; 

  • Ideally a degree holder in a related discipline;

  • Up to date knowledge of the international accounting standards (IFRS) and with Serco applied best practice
