Here at Serco we are looking for a Senior Forensic Psychologist to join the team at HMP Fosse Way. Under the line management of the Head of Psychological Services, you will identify and deliver evidence-based assessments, formulations and treatment, contributing to the effective risk management of both determinate and indeterminate sentence prisoners. The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in promoting and developing psychological services and Rehabilitative Culture throughout this new prison and when working with or within other Serco contracts.
The individual will be a positive culture carrier, working effectively and supportively within teams, inspiring and promoting effective change. This post will suit someone who enjoys direct psychological contact, working alongside prisoners who present with a range of complex needs. Emphasis will be placed on providing high quality forensic risk assessments and interventions, providing consultancy to other professionals, providing advice and input into multi-disciplinary meetings (for example Safety, MAPPA or Offender Personality Disorder pathway advice) and providing designated support and supervision for the Forensic Psychologists in Training (FPiTs).

What you will need to do the role
To carry out this role successfully, you will need to be experienced and skilled in working in a multi-disciplinary way. Skilled at report writing and presenting evidence in formal settings such as Oral Hearings. Able to plan strategically and communicate specialist knowledge to others such as the Senior Management Team. Understanding in relation the training routes Forensic Psychology and ability to supervise FPiTs. Understanding and ability to administer and interpret risk assessment tools and psychometrics. Up to date knowledge in research in Forensic Psychology and particularly that relating to the rehabilitation of offenders. Good awareness and knowledge of the Offender Personality Disorder pathway. Ability to make good clinical formulations of offenders with complex needs. Experience of assessing and working therapeutically with offenders with complex needs such as personality disorder, learning disability or on the autistic spectrum.
Administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological assessments such as PCL-R, IPDE.
