Your Opportunity 

We are looking for an experience and qualified Network Engineer to support our Team Leader for his discipline in the delivery of CNS Systems technical expertise by providing efficient and effective support to the ATC and ATE operations at Dubai Air Navigation Services. 

 

You will be expected to ensure compliance with all CNS Manuals, processes, procedures and applicable Local, National or International regulations, standards and recommended practices. An ideal candidate should have the ability to develop quality standards, testing procedures, inspection reporting formats, and ability to conceptualize tasks and accomplish them, to work to tight deadlines and make correct decisions under pressure.

 

This opportunity will be based in DANS (Dubai Air Navigation Services). DANS provides air navigation services at four airports in the UAE, one of which is the world's busiest airport for international passengers, where their mission is to empower and develop all their people in delivering world-leading air navigation services that exceed every standard, assure their customers, and shape global innovation.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Provide support to ensure provision of efficient and safe day to day operations and deliver an effective CNS services in compliance with project requirements, applicable rules and regulations. Conduct work activities in a safe manner and in line with dans Safety and Quality Management Systems processes and procedures and appropriate GCAA civil aviation regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on ATE systems and equipment at DXB, DWC or EFTA and attend to any faults in support of the ATE Shift personnel in accordance with published CNS procedures for the systems they are the specialist for and/or hold the competence on
  • Provide support to ensure provision of efficient and safe day to day operations and deliver an effective CNS services in compliance with project requirements, applicable rules and regulations. Conduct work activities in a safe manner and in line with dans Safety and Quality Management Systems processes and procedures and appropriate GCAA civil aviation regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and assist in the development of shift personnel to enhance their knowledge and capability. Provide training and impart information to engineers and technicians where necessary. Conduct systems competency assessment and deliver systems OJT for ATSEP within specialist areas in compliance with ALCS
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as maintenance procedures; technical manuals; OJT and Competency Assessment scripts; Configuration management (software, firmware and hardware); and drawings for all of the systems within specialist areas at DXB and DWC in compliance with CARs and all other relevant policies, procedures and regulations
  • Review of project documentation including operational requirements, technical specifications, tender evaluations, FAT and SAT scripts and CDR documentation, future planning and system analysis ensuring all projects are supported.  Carry out or assist with equipment factory acceptance tests (FAT) both overseas and within country; equipment installation and site acceptance tests (IAT & SAT)
     

Specific requirements

  • The post holder shall have as a minimum, a Bachelor Degree or Higher Diploma in Electronics Engineering from a recognized University, Training Establishment, or have equivalent and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a CNS/ATM maintenance environment.
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
  • Relevant certificates of competency on ATE systems and equipment that meet international or national regulatory standards. All Level 2 competencies should be current.
  • Hold an OJTI qualification or be prepared to gain this qualification.
  • Up to date knowledge of GCAA Civil Aviation Regulations
  • Knowledge of ICAO standards and recommended practices.
  • Technical knowledge of Communications, Navigation, Radar, ATM and other Airport Systems
  • Knowledge of ATC and other customer procedures
  • Knowledge of CNS Safety Objectives
