Working closely with local authorities and residents and we strive to minimise waste and maximise participation in recycling. 

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supervisor to join our successful and busy team in Stowmarket.

 

 

This role will see you ensure safe operating procedures are always adopted in line with 'munisafe' and the Company's Health & Safety requirements, ensure that risk assessments exist for every aspect of the daily operations and that they are current and relevant, bringing any anomalies to the attention of the Depot Manager, ensure that all identified training is undertaken, and all risk assessments are fully understood and working practices and control measures are all fully implemented & adhered to, including the use of reversing assistants, attend Depot Health & Safety Meetings and ensure that 25% vehicle checks are undertaken.

 

You will also take responsibility for making sure that the accident reporting procedure is monitored, maintained & investigations are conducted to establish Root cause, as well as the Monthly Health & Safety checks are undertaken and any issues arising are resolved and personal protective equipment is issued recorded and used.

 

You will manage, motivate, recruit, train, communicate with and develop all employees directly reporting you, ensuring that work is carried out within the terms of the Contract and where possible within contracted hours, that all work is scheduled efficiently with the best use of both labour and equipment, to seek to reduce operating costs with careful cost control and explore new ways of improving effectiveness and efficiency of the whole operation, implement the Companies disciplinary & grievance procedure when appropriate, ensure that the Companies probationary review is undertaken for new employees, conduct return to work interviews as appropriate, review sickness checking for attendance patterns and take corrective action where necessary with the employee in line with Company procedures and ensure that daily debriefs are completed and that action is taken on any issues arising.

 Another aspect fo the role will be to monitor performance and take action accordingly,  complete weekly KPI information, maintain payroll records and ensure that timesheets are completed daily, manage the holiday rota to ensure that enough employees are available and that holidays are taken throughout the year and not allowed to stockpile, make sure all daily forms are fully completed by all crews; these include vehicle defect sheets, missed collection sheets, and daily worksheets etc, and to make sure that all vehicles operate in a safe manner and any defects are rectified in line with company procedure.

 

 

What You Need To Do The Job

 

First and foremost, you will be an experienced Supervisor from a blue-collar, unionised working environment, with good IT skills and reporting skills and experience of managing and motivating a team.

 

Experience within Environmental Sevices is not essential.

 

You must hold a full UK driving licence to be considered for this role.
