Serco are recruiting for a Senior Technician Pilot Cutters & Barges to join their current team based at Faslane, Dunbartonshire.

The key purpose of the role is to operate and ensure correct maintenance and repair of the 2 x Pilot Cutters, Sewage Barge and Sullage Barge, this includes all auxiliary machinery, vessel systems, and equipment in a safe, effective and economic manner to ensure the vessel is maintained to the required Flag State and Class standards, where applicable. The Engineer will work with the Port Technical team to ensure this outcome. 

Main Accountabilities:

• The operation maintenance, performance, availability, security, custody and safety of all equipment and systems in their charge.
• The custody of drawings and publications associated with the equipment and systems in their charge, and of ships machinery spares and stores appropriate to his department.
• The compilation of records, reports and returns. Including engagement with the company maintenance systems.
• For standards of fire prevention and firefighting onboard vessels
• Provide all necessary written procedures for the Engineering Department aboard, as required by the Quality System or the ISM Code as appropriate.
• Demand stores, fuel, and spare equipment as necessary.
• Work with the Port Technical team to support Vessel dockings as and where necessary.
• To be responsible for maintenance on more than one vessel.
• To assist with barge lash up, berthing and unberthing.

What you'll need to do the role:

• 3rd / 2nd Engineer / SMEOL CoC
• ENG1 or ML5
• Excellent communication skills
• Health, Safety and Risk Management awareness
• Must be able to obtain Home Office Security Clearance
