Our team is responsible for functional and non-functional tests on one of our core eCommerce payment platforms, WPG (Worldwide Payment Gateway).
In WPG, we focus intensively on robustness, security and capacity, but with large-scale test automation and a well-tuned release machine. Change is deployed with no downtime; we upgrade the system whilst it is still running at top speed. That top speed is substantial; at peak time the platform can happily process 800 transactions every second, and on its busiest days over 10 million payments are successfully completed.
How will you contribute?
In this role, you'll work as a key part of an agile scrum team, to deliver products and change requests of the highest quality. You'll ensure efficient, effective and economic testing of a number of software projects using appropriate strategies and techniques. You'll conduct functional and non-functional tests of our application, act as a mentor to more junior members of the team, and work closely with the Test Manager to enhance test processes on an ongoing basis. You'll participate in agile ceremonies like daily scrums, sprint reviews and retrospectives, and proactively identify improvements and enhancements to the platform.
You'll have extensive experience with software testing and a good understanding of Agile testing methods like BDD and Exploratory testing. You'll have experience with software testing procedures and be skilled in test planning, test estimation, prioritisation and risk-based testing. We are looking for someone who has experience in all aspects of functional and non-functional testing, strong problem solving skills and experience coaching/ mentoring more junior team members.
Strong stakeholder management skills is key to the success in this role and experience with MS Office products, SoapUI, Defect Tracking Systems and Visual Studio are ideal. Experience with SQL, JIRA, Jenkins and Selenium are also advantageous.
