About the Role

Safety and Incident Management Service (SIMS) maintains and promotes the safety and security of all individuals, equipment, and the site, as part of our vision to create Australia's leading Healthcare Environment. We maintain a highly visible presence, engage with individuals, reliably monitor security and parking systems, and respond rapidly and professionally to safety, security and emergency incidents.

The Control Room Operator monitors activity at the Fiona Stanley Hospital site and is responsible for managing multiple systems including CCTV, intercoms, building management systems and parking systems to receive, prioritise and manage site-based incidents. The Control Room Operator is expected to demonstrate high level of customer service, initiative and planning to ensure an efficient service delivery.

 About You

  • Uses information networks and knowledge management systems competently.
  • Demonstrate high level of attention to detail


To be successful in this role, you will have prior experience with the following

  • Managing the daily operations of the Control Room.
  • Escalate potential KPI breaches
  • Reviewing and maintaining constant streams of CCTV footage and prepare to respond when required.
  • Create, monitor and close work orders as required.
  • Respond to customer contact via phone or intercoms and assist with troubleshooting
  • Continuously monitor the 480+ cameras on the Fiona Stanley Hospital site. In particular,
  • monitor critical areas including ED and nearby areas.
  • Monitor after hours door access, including operational access doors and door schedules.
  • Monitor system alarms and escalate as needed including responding to the fire control
  • system (ELVS)
  • Register lost & found and patient property after hours.
  • Assist with access card management including resolving access issues, deleting access
  • or escalating issues as required.
  • Certificate II in Security Operations (Essential)


This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a national police check as an essential selection component for this role.
