Job Description

You will repair composite components in a variety of materials following detailed drawing specifications to produce high quality parts for a variety of aircraft. Your role will include a range of tasks where you must be able to demonstrate flexibility and work effectively as part of a larger multi-disciplined team. You will work with a minimum level of supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work undertaken. This role will require a very proactive approach to finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for improving safety, cost, quality and delivery within the business.

Starting salary, £28,274.04 upon receipt of the AO stamp increasing to £29,112.24
Late shift is 2pm-10pm then Friday is 12-6 (20% uplift on all late shifts)
With uplift the salary will increase to £33,928 further increasing to £34,934 after AO stamp

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair to composite components, including prepreg and resin repairs
  • Wet layup of military components
  • Installation of inserts to composite detail panels
  • Provide cover to Edge seal and Triage teams when required

Please note that this role will involve physical activity. Therefore, applicants must be capable of undertaking activities with appropriate assistance if required.

Requirements

Essential

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent - specific composite repair training will be provided
  • Numeracy and literacy skills, and able to read and understand technical documentation
  • Good planning and problem- solving skills
  • Working understanding of the 5 S and lean principles
  • Basic IT Skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of composite detail manufacture, specifically layup.
  • Previous work experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Proven ability within the manufacturing and assembly areas at HAL
  • Support good change culture, with a real willingness to adapt and work on different programs when required
