Here at Serco, we are recruiting for a Skills Coach to join our Employment, Skills & Enterprise team. As Skills Coach you will guide and support learners through every stage of their journey, liaise closely with ESE's delivery and quality teams, and ESE's supply chain partners delivering training in partnership with ESE.

You will contact and provide support for adults that are both in employment and unemployed, engage with learners to understand their requirements for skills and training, and to support their move into sustainable employment or career progression, as varying levels of support maybe required. Training may be delivered by in-house delivery teams, or in partnership with third party training providers.

You will provide end-to-end support for the learner throughout their journey, from initial advice and guidance (IAG), wrap around care and support with progression. The role combines elements of pastoral support with coaching to achieve their aims. Skills Coaches will be L3 IAG qualified or be prepared to undertake such training.

The role is remote/home based, however there will be a need for some travel to our Birmingham based offices for occasional team meetings. This role is subject to contract award.



What you'll need to do the role

You must have knowledge and understanding of coaching techniques to motivate learners who may be disengaged, be performance focused with a desire to deliver an excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will be confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people, quality driven and prepared to go the extra mile for your learners and have an expertise in the use of a PC with experience of using office automation tools such as outlook, word, excel.


Experience of delivering IAG within an education and skills environment is desirable but not essential.


You will need to be based in the West Midlands and have the capacity to work from home.
