Serco have an exciting opportunity for an Specialist Coordinator to join our Course Administration Team. The Course Administration Management Department is responsible for supporting the planning and organisation of over 1200 courses on site at the Defence Academy, remotely and on-line.

 

This is a specialised role and as such the successful applicant is required to complete DV clearance which is reflected in the salary. As this is the highest level of Security clearance this may take several months to complete therefore the candidate will be able to join the Course Administration Management team on reaching BPSS clearance to complete many aspects of the training, with full support throughout the vetting process.

 

Serco at the Defence Academy provides Facilities Management across all aspects of the site including Estates, Logistics, various Supporting Services, together with Cleaning, Catering and Waste Management through ESS.  

 

Duties for the role:

  • Taking a pro- active role within the department and generally be fully conversant with the course aims and programme.
  • Processing Course Members/Student arrival/departure from Shrivenham Station, ensuring associated registers are accurately maintained.
  • Course Administration support to Directing Staff in our Defence Cyber Academy
  • Maintenance of course communication and documents.
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Processing the on and off boarding for Students
  • Updating students career profile with competencies at course completion
  • Liaising with external military and civilian institutions to gain relevant data.
  • After course work such as reporting and associated administrative tasks on various systems
  • Cross skilling to support across the wider team.
  • Mentoring and coaching of new starters
  • Management of Work Instructions

 

What you need to do the job:

  • Good level of general education, with proven business writing skills and Maths.
  • Professional and engaging communication through a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour).
  • Able to work unsupervised and under pressure, with conflicting demands of customer and colleagues.
  • Must be methodical, have proven organisational skills and ability to proactively manage departmental workload, delegating responsibility where necessary.
  • Yellow Belt - Continuous Improvement Methodology beneficial
  • PC literate, with a good level of experience in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel. 

 

The Defence Academy sits within a beautiful and secure site which hosts 2 lakes and is surrounded by acres of scenic woodland.
