We have an exciting opportunity for a Stores & Logistics Controller to join our team at DIT. This role will be responsible for the safe and effective daily running of the Serco Waterlooville stores facility, primarily focused on tasking for the Design, Integration and Test business unit and deputise for the Logistics & Compliance Manager as needed.

 

Serco's DIT team at Waterlooville forms part of the technology capability, providing high integrity test solutions, through-life support, data acquisition/simulation, and technical consultancy. The DIT team works with leading industry technologies and tools, which are integrated into innovative solutions that enables customers to reduce costs and succeed in their goals.

 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • To be the custodian of the Waterlooville Stores encompassing Goods-In booking in, Kitting, Despatch, Stock Control maintenance, Inspection, and item history records.
  • Carry out a rolling 12-month stocktake of project stock.
  • Visual Inspection of incoming supplier items and internal manufactured items.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers if needed.
  • Carryout any site despatch activities such as packing, raising shipping documentation and arranging couriers.
  • Operate the site forklift truck and carryout it's routine operational safety and maintenance checks.
  • To be the nominated GFE/GFA Custodian including maintaining accurate stock records and submitting quarterly stock reports and annual stock checks.
  • Ensure stores facility meets site required Health and Safety standards.
  • Support External / Internal audits.

 

What you'll need to do the role 

  • Diligent data entry skills.
  • Confident to work with minimal supervisor and use initiative when required.
  • Complete understanding of Goods-In and Despatch procedures.
  • Stock control management using MRP/Database systems.
  • Attention to detail when kitting small items.
  • Competency with IT skills to use Microsoft Office applications, MRP Systems, Data Capture packages and SAP applications.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interact with suppliers and internal staff to resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Inventory management experience within the military and commercial sectors.
  • Hold a current Fork Lift Licence or willing to undertake relevant training.
