Serco have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Person to join the current team based St Bartholomew's Hospital. The Stores Person provides a porterage and storeroom service as required to the highest standard and supports the Kitchen Manager, as required, occasionally standing in for other chefs.



Main Accountabilities


As the Stores Person you will receive all deliveries of food and non-food items to the Catering department, checking invoices and delivery van temperatures and assist with in-house deliveries of stores and storage. You will also maintain the upkeep of the storeroom, fridges and freezer/stock rotation and check all fridge and freezer temperatures are taken and recorded on a daily basis. You will carry out and assist in the smooth running of the kitchen and will cover for chefs during absence.


What you'll need to do the role


To be successful in this role you will hold a basic food handlers' certificate and have good literacy and numeracy skills. You will be able to work under pressure and take direction from the Management Team and Chefs on duty whilst be able to work in a team. Previous catering/ kitchen experience an would be advantageous. Lastly, you will keep a high standard of personal hygiene, clean uniform and overall camaraderie within the Kitchen.
