What is the purpose of the role?
We are recruiting for an experienced Strategic Project Manager to join our growing operations team in central Reading, Berkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the strategy for the Logistics Management Centre (LMC), regulation and operational requirements. You will manage strategic projects across the LMC portfolios which are critical in the delivery of the strategic outcomes. You will support the LMC team in the creation of these initiatives, through to project creation, management, through to BAU handover to the LMC team.

What will this role involve?
Conducting research, analysis and building relationships with stakeholders in order to develop the future strategy with the LMC.
Support in defining the direction for the LMC in the future, as well as actually delivering the enabling projects to make this strategy a reality.
Engage with multiple stakeholders across the business in order to understand requirements and present findings.
Lead specialist analysts (utilising SQL, GIS, MS Access and MS Excel) to derive insight.
Implement and deliver the continuous improvement by driving for optimisation and efficiency to continually improve the performance, managing, resolving and escalating issues and implementing business and technical developments to improve business performance.
Manage projects from initiation through to BAU implementation, working closely with the LMC team to support, as well as report on status of initiatives, benefit, opportunities, milestones and RAIDO to the team and wider business.
What are we looking for?
You will have the ability to understand and simplify complex issues, combined with a passion for problem-solving and innovative thinking. Experience in managing a portfolio of projects, the ability to work flexibly and cope with pressure and challenges. Strong analytical skills and strategic planning ability, as well as commercial awareness and understanding of business environments are an essential requirement in this role. The ability to work as part of a team, with good interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role will be based in central Reading, Berkshire offering a salary of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
